I never realised how quickly I could “succeed in property” and it sent me on a real journey to get to know myself, my real business model and my signature strategy. My quick success in property was down to the fact that I was quick to start speaking to sellers, taking action and showing up.
At the time I ran a marketing agency and so took on the challenge of the messaging and marketing like I was my own client.
Backtrack a little further, the reason I was intrigued to get into property properly was BECAUSE I had a couple of property investor clients in my marketing agency. I’d been doing some lead generation / digital marketing work for them and testing and measuring the responses and ROI to get them property deals. I realised that I was actually getting them some brilliant results that easily turned into some pretty profitable deals for them, and I was intrigued and itching to do this for myself too.
I decided to give myself a year to just TRY become a full-time property investor.
When I decided to take massive action though I immediately started having thoughts of “who would work with me”, “I can’t become a property investor if I’m based in South Wales”, “Who do I think I am wanting this?!”, the list goes on and on, after thinking of a dream I’d immediately back it up with a negative thought to try and put myself back to my safe place, which was pretty much being in survival mode. I see a LOT of people doing the same. After some intense mindset work and NLP training I was able to reprogram my thinking and start championing myself. A mix of new habits and routines gave me the extra kick that I needed.
I started to speak to sellers in property owners in my chosen area of Cardiff, with my chosen message, to fit my chosen strategy of Rent to Rent. I quickly built up a small portfolio which covered my monthly salary which in turn allowed me to have a buffer monthly income, so I could put more time into the property business.
It was when I continued to generate leads and then brought in a secondary strategy that the next level of income brought me £10k months, I had to scale my systems. I’d used software to manage my marketing work and clients and so adapted these to my property business, I still use them now.
With consistent mindset work, good habits and picking the deals and strategies that suit my personality, I’ve created and scaled the business that’s right for me, and I’m loving helping people do the same.
